VI COMMANDO

L/Sgt. Richard Sadler

(S/N 2328048)

Cpl. Richard Sadler, formerly of the Royal Corps of Signals, served with No.6 Commando from at least 9th December 1941, when he was reported as having suffered injuries including minor puncture wounds to his face following the grenade accident aboard HMS Prince Charles during the preparations for the raid on Florø (Norway). 

Richard Sadler continued to serve with No.6 Commando and was promoted to Lance Sergeant. 

L/Sgt. Richard Sadler was Killed In Action (KIA) on 30th November 1942 , aged 27 years.

Richard was the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Sadler, of Croydon, Surrey . He was laid to rest in memorium on the Medjez-El-Bab Memorial ( Tunisia ) Face 11.
